Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

When building KidSpark, we followed one principle: the app should help tired parents, not spy on their families. You don't create an account, you don't give us an email address and you don't see ads, and most of what you do in the app never leaves your phone.

Below we describe plainly what data the KidSpark mobile app (the “App”) and the kidsparkapp.com website process, who receives it and what rights you have.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Krzysztof Miszczyński, the creator of the KidSpark app. For anything related to privacy, write to kontakt@kidsparkapp.com.

2. What stays only on your device

This information is stored locally on your phone. We have no access to it and it is not sent to any server:

Uninstalling the App removes this data from the device.

3. Stories created by artificial intelligence

The “A story about your child” feature (Premium) creates text using artificial intelligence. It is entirely optional, and the App asks for your consent before the first use.

What we send: the child's first name, the name of a favourite toy or pet, the story topic, the age range (e.g. 4–5), the chosen mood and the language. A first name is enough – do not enter a surname, address or anything else that could identify the child.

Where it goes: to Google Gemini, through Firebase AI Logic (Google). Google processes this data to generate the story, under the terms of its services.

What we don't do: we don't store this data on our own servers, we don't link it to your identity and we don't use it for advertising. The finished story is saved only on your device.

The legal basis is your consent. You can simply stop using this feature – the rest of the App works the same without it.

4. Analytics and crash reports

To learn which features are useful and to fix bugs, we use Google services: Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.

What we collect: events in the App (e.g. opening a screen, drawing an activity, reading a story, viewing the purchase screen), identifiers and titles of the activities and stories shown, phrases typed into the activity and story search, the App language, whether you have Premium, and technical data: device model, operating system version, approximate location (country, region, city) derived from the IP address and a random App installation identifier. Crash reports additionally contain a technical description of the error.

What we don't collect: the child's name, the toy's name, the topic you typed or the text of stories. For stories about your child we only record that one was created, the chosen mood, the age range and whether the topic came from the ready-made list.

This data is tied to a random installation identifier, not to your name, email address or phone number. The App shows no ads and does not share data with advertising networks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the App and keeping it stable.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium access is bought as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Payment is handled exclusively by the store the App comes from – the Apple App Store or Google Play. We have no access to your card or billing details.

To check whether you have active Premium access we use RevenueCat. It receives a random App user identifier and purchase information provided by the store (such as product type, date and purchase status). The legal basis is performance of a contract – providing the features you bought.

6. Protection against abuse

Before the App requests a story, Firebase App Check confirms that the request comes from a genuine, unmodified App. This relies on system mechanisms (Apple's App Attest or Google's Play Integrity). They do not give us information about you – only a confirmation that the App and device are authentic. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service against abuse.

7. Reminders

You turn the evening reminder on yourself and can turn it off at any time. Notifications are scheduled on your device – we do not use a notification server and collect no data for this.

8. Contact and story reports

When you email us or report a story from the App, you send the message from your own mail app. We then receive your email address and the content of the message. A story report contains the full text of the story, which includes the child's name and the toy's name – you see the whole message before sending it.

We use this data only to reply and to review the reported content. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries and improving story safety.

9. Website

The kidsparkapp.com website uses no cookies, analytics tools or ads. It only remembers your chosen language – in your browser's storage, not on a server. As with any website, the hosting provider's server records basic technical connection data in its logs (IP address, time, browser type) to keep the site secure and running.

10. Children's privacy

KidSpark is a tool for adults – parents and caregivers. The App is not intended to be used by children on their own, and we do not collect data directly from children.

The only information about a child that may leave the device is the first name, the toy's name and the age range that a parent enters to create a story (section 3). The parent does this voluntarily, after giving consent.

11. Who we share data with

We do not sell data and do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes. We only use providers needed for the App to work:

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. This takes place under mechanisms provided for in data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

12. How long we keep data

13. Your rights

Under data protection law (GDPR) you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable form and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

You do not create an account with us, so we cannot link most data to a specific person. If you want to exercise your rights, write to kontakt@kidsparkapp.com and we will help work out which data is concerned. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

14. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the App changes. The current version is always available on this page, and we mention significant changes in the update notes in the store.
